Hot tensile properties and strain hardening behaviour of Super 304HCu stainless steel

چکیده
Super 304HCu austenitic stainless steel containing 2.3–3 (wt.%) of Cu is mainly used in superheaters and reheaters tubing of ultra super critical boilers which operates over 600 ◦C of steam temperature. Tensile tests were carried out on Super 304HCu, using nominal strain rate of 1 × 10−3 s−1, at room temperature, 550 ◦C, 600 ◦C and 650 ◦C. The tensile strength and elongation were found to decrease with increase in test temperature. The stress strain curves were fitted using Hollomon equation to determine the strain hardening exponent value. Differential Crussard–Jaoul (C–J) analysis of the tensile curve is used to determine the variation in strain hardening exponent. Kocks–Mecking (K–M) type plots were used to determine the stages of strain hardening during tensile loading of the specimen. The strain hardening capacity of the Super 304HCu is found to decrease with increase in test temperature. © 2016 Brazilian Metallurgical, Materials and Mining Association. PREDICTION OF HOT DEFORMATION BEHAVIOUR OF A PH STAINLESS STEEL AT HIGH STRAIN RATES
In this study the hot deformation behaviour of a precipitation hardened (PH) stainless steel at high strain rates has been predicted through hot compression testing. Stress-strain curves were obtained for a range of strain rates from 10-3 to 10+1 S-1 and temperatures from 850 to 1150°C. Results obtained by microstructure and stress-strain curves show that at low temperatures and high strain rat...
متن کاملModelling Mechanical Properties of AISI 439-430Ti Ferritic Stainless Steel Sheet
The comprehension of the anisotropy impacts on mechanical properties of the rolled steel sheets was investigated using a non-quadratic anisotropic yield function. In this study, experimental and modelling determination regarding the behaviour of an industrial rolled sheet for a ferritic stainless low-carbon steel were carried out. The parameters of the associated yield equation, derived from th...
متن کاملDynamic Recrystallization under Hot Deformation of a PH Stainless Steel
Dynamic recrystallization, DRX, behaviour of a precipitation hardened, PH, stainless steel was studied in connection with microstructural developments in a compression test. The experimental results showed that the dominant mechanism of softening is DRX, but at high strain rates and low temperatures, ie, high Zener-Holman parameter, Z, work hardening and dynamic recovery, DRV, produced a pancke...
متن کاملHot Deformation Behavior of 17-7 PH Stainless Steel
To investigate the hot deformation behavior of 17-7 PH stainless steel, hot compression tests were carried out at the temperatures of 950, 1050 and 1150 oC and strain rates of 0.001 s-1 to 0.1 s-1. Accordingly, the hot working behavior was studied by the analyses of flow stress curves, work hardening rate versus stress curves, exponent- type constitutive equations and deformed microstructures. ...

In this research, industrial hot deformation processes was simulated for 321 austenitic stainless steel using hot compression test with the aim of acquiring technical knowledge and indigenization of stainless steel production. The obtained stress-strain curves showed the common retrieval dynamic behaviour. By microscopic studies, the main restoration mechanism during hot deformation in this ste...
